I use Google chrome all the time, most of time I pin the browser tab to the left so that I can have most of the common services that I need available.
However, sometimes depending on the work that I’m doing that day, I could get too many pinned tabs which makes the Chrome difficult to use on the smaller size of monitor screen. I love split screen (4/6) taking the browser to have 40% of the horizontal split while leaving 60% on whatever the main task that I’m working on.
If you run into the similar issue, maybe you can try to get one of the tab out of the browser and make it a stand-alone application. It used to require a third party application, but lately I found out you just need Safari to make that happen.
I know I don’t use Safari, but for a stand-alone app, maybe you don’t really care which engine is running behind, maybe.
Say I want to have a Google Calendar app, I can go to Safari, visit the calendar website, login etc. Once everything is loaded properly, open the menu File/Share...
and in the pop up menu choose Add to Dock
.
After that, you should see an Icon added to the Dock.
Now you can close the Safari, and whenever you need the Calendar app, you remember to choose the app. IMHO, the experience is flawless.
