Black Friday wasn’t black

We were out this black Friday the entire day. I‘m in happy mood. Thanks giving holiday is all about the family, hanging out with the friends. I feel quite a bit from the holiday, especially this year considering the virus is almost gone. But very quickly I realized this black Friday is not typical.

The street was quiet, at least it wasn’t crowded as I expected. We got to the shopping mall at about 11am, and even managed to find a parking without any delay. We went through all the stores with no lines. I was happy but I felt a bit fish. To be frank, it’s not un-busy, but it’s just a regular ok busy day, like any day but special.

We then went to dine in after some shopping. The restaurant looked only busy due to the shortage of the waiters. We found a medium size table, and chatted there for a hour to finally get our food. Not because the place was packed. Thus we were so grateful there were people willing to come to work. Otherwise we wouldn’t be able to have a nice lunch and conversation with our friends.

In the afternoon, we went for some gift shopping. It was then when I realized there wasn’t much discounts going on throughout the shop. For some reason, I remembered the black Friday is all about cheaper stuff. But I didn’t see it there, shockingly I didn’t see even advertisement of the discounts that much. This gave me goosebump. Of course, we still bought everything for everyone in the family and went home happily.

In the end, I realized this Friday isn’t a typical black Friday: at least the business didn’t want us to feel that way, and then we kind of accepted it.

Oh well, I was still very happy, and thankful about everything around us. All the stores were still there, and nothing actually changed that much in this holiday, except we don’t have the virus any more, as well as the discount. Well, I can take that ;)
