Aren’t Americans saving money?

I start to live by myself these days, sometimes my kids keep me accompany, but more or less I’m with myself. As a cheap person, I try to save money here and there, and I like my ways of saving. I’m not struggling, instead I’m enjoying this type of calculation as long as it doesn’t cost me too much time.

And it occurred to me lately, aren’t we (as a nation) saving money now? This is a very strange question to ask, because I found quite frankly: some of us aren’t.

History

Maybe others view America as a luxury country, but I have different opinion on that based on my own experience and observations. I had only stayed here for twenty years.

I think America is more or less constructed upon a “cost-effective” model. The model itself is keeping asking this question, aren’t we saving money? Maybe you are not asking this question, but at least one of us is, right now. And this happens in a super large geo scale in a super fine grain time scale. So that in the end it makes this country vibrant and drives this country become what it is today. Historically, I believe this was the model.

Disturbed

This model is shaking somehow, at least in some degree.

There’re lots of things happened to the world lately, which could disturb a lot of things to the extent that no one has ever imagined, unless you have lived very long. Tracing back 100 years ago, you can see a lot of interesting thing that common people has no idea. We all thought we are born in the digital age. Not really actually, you just have to be a bit older, sorry I’m not, but I read so I kinda of know how older gets old.

Nevertheless, what has changed US could be directly tie to the money. People here is relatively richer, especially the older generation, we have a lot of older generation and it’ll get more. They need to be taken care of, but most importantly they have money, and they probably will have more money in the future depending on how the interest rate goes and the world center evolves to. We are experiencing the money hoarding time. Period.

One dollar used to be quite useful, but starts to fade a bit these days, and I don’t know why, people is kinda getting used to it. This is bad. If it’s someone who’s not appreciating money, that has to start from you. Of course if everyone is not appreciating money, that is a country’s issue.

And in the end, this issue will suffocate us in multiple folds which I’ll explain.

Running out of money

From poor to rich can take a long long time, but from rich to poor, trust me, easy. So if we don’t appreciate money as it supposed to, please don’t quote me economic terms, you will be running out of money eventually. And then you will become miserable, no matter how successful you were. One dollar is for one dollar.

Migration

Migration isn’t a one-way ticket, for people who is looking for opportunities, they come to US; but for people who is looking to live, they might move away from US. This is inevitable if US stays strong as money dominance. We have too many old people, and they can find a country for speaking english easily; not to mention we have so many immigration in this country, we all have our original place to run to if we have to. This is sad if this happens. People do have choices, for now they choose to live here.

Society model

The culture clashes is in the highest moment; there’re so many cultures that claim to be better than others. And it used to be western / eastern fight; but even inside US, it starts to have major split that no one understand what we are fighting for. To me, please make living expense cheaper, whoever can do that might shape us to the right model. You can’t live with your prestige for long. Pretense is superficial.

This is not what really concerns me. The standards of doing things has been degenerated gradually even when the living expense is shooting high. The prestige of having medium to high standard has been drastically replaced by the equal rights: the protection of any people on the universe!

The side effect of this movement actually puts eastern country or even europe country to the central stage of the world, because they are more willing to explore the detail bit of the equal rights, make it proper, and make it super detailed, just like with cameras on you 24/7. And in the end, you actually do not hear any more most of the old merits, such as being honest, such as being brave. This is what makes us at the first place. Our goal is never to help the world, our goal is always to survive and make us strong.

Honest/brave model is dying out, especially from the eastern to the europe, in my knowledge US is the last standing ground for that. Even that eventually might die because dollar is the trickiest problem to solve if you don’t agree to meet in the middle. And by doing that, we know honesty and bravery aren’t going to be the leading factors. People will be more diplomatic and good attitude that leads to stability might be more important in solving human problems. At least that’s what they appear to people.

I obviously disagree with that. As I mentioned, we don’t solve others’ problem as first priority, we first make us strong (I’m not fan of Trump, that is just his tag line). Also we don’t intent to lie, because our prestige never require us to. We are the winner, we just need to keep the score running and make future brighter every day.

Conclusion

I don’t think the largest population in US is in saving mode, which I highly recommend all of us start to do; because sooner or later, this world has to turn in a drastic manner that no one can anticipate, the reason behind it is that historically when the dollar goes to uncharted water, nothing has no consequences.
